Bajaj's answer to Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZS is here!

Bajaj Pulsar 150NS

Bajaj Auto exhibited all the upcoming Pulsar models including the much anticipated Pulsar 150NS at the CNR Expo in Istanbul, Turkey. The company has also revealed specifications of the bike, which claims to make a whopping 17PS from an air-cooled, single-cylinder, carbureted engine, displacing 149.5cc.

This new motor placed in the Pulsar 150NS has been blessed with the 4-valve and the latest Triple-Spark technology, which has resulted in the best-in-class power output. Torque delivery of the new engine goes upto 13Nm, which comes at 7,500rpm, while the maximum power (16.8bhp) can be achieved at 9,000rpm. The 4-stroke mill has been mated to a 5-speed gearbox via wet-multiplate clutch assembly, which controls the power and torque delivery to the rear wheel.

As the new Bajaj Pulsar 150NS is based on the existing Pulsar 200NS, both bikes look almost identical to each other. However, there are some changes in the cosmetic as well as mechanicals, which makes the differentiation easier.

These differences include an air-cooled engine, smaller front petal disc brake, rear drum brake, bigger rear mudguard and the most important 'NS150' monogram on the rear panels.

Though, most of the detailing of Pulsar 150NS has been taken from the 200NS like the aggressive styling, 10-spoke wheel design, clip-on handlebars, analog-digital console, underbelly exhaust and the rear Nitrox mono-shock suspension. While some of the features has been retained from the existing Pulsar 150, which are 31mm front telescopic forks, rear swing-arm, 100/90 section rear tyre, 80/100 section front tyre and more.

Dimensions and weight of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 150NS are also much similar to that of the Pulsar 200NS. Overall measurements (length x width x height) of the bike are 2,105mm x 800mm x 1,220mm, while the wheelbase sits at 1,363mm. Unladen weight of the motorcycle is 144 kg and its fuel tank can carry 12 litres of fuel.

The new Bajaj Pulsar 150NS will be positioned as a premium 150cc offering in the market and will compete with the bikes like Yamaha FZ/FZS, Suzuki Gixxer, Honda CB Unicorn 160 and Hero Xtreme Sports.

The bike is expected to be priced under Rs 75,000, something that will get the competition up on its toes. However, the new Pulsar will take the advantages of the better mileage and most powerful engine.
