Yamaha Motor India, has adopted a trend of bringing new versions of its current motorcycles for the Indian market. Recently it upgraded its 150cc commuter SZ-RR.

Here are five top features that you can see in Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0.

The version 2.0 of SZ-RR has been launched at Rs 65,300 (ex-showroom price, Delhi). Version 2.0's engine has been developed on Blue Core, a new generation development technology that adds more mileage count and accelerates performance to the maximum.

Design

Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0

It is hard to find many changes in the design of the new SZ-RR Version 2.0. The manufacturer has fitted an advance engine but has hardly thought of changing the appearance of the machine.

New tubeless tyres are designed for the bike while the company is also calling out for a new instrument cluster.

The 'SZ' logo on the handlebar holder, tank shrouds, new graphics and colour options -- Red Dash, Ivory White and Green Arrow -- are some of the highlights of the bike that make it look plush.

Engine

Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0 is coupled to a 149cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder engine. Mated to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission, the mill incorporates Blue Core technology that helps it deliver 11 per cent more mileage, while maintaining the high-end performance.

The motor is configured to produce maximum power of 12bhp at an acceleration of 7500rpm with peak torque of 12.8Nm. However, other 150cc motorcycles deliver more power and torque output, which is a pure setback for SZ-RR.

Blue Core Technology

The concept of the Blue Core technology helps to improve combustion chamber design, lightening the moving parts, roller rocker arm, optimising crank inertia, advanced electric charging system and improving intake port.

These elements help the engine to achieve optimum combustion, power loss reduction, precise control of fuel supply and ignition timing, resulting in better performance and excellent mileage.

Chassis and Suspension

Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0 has the same old structure, wherein the chassis and the suspension system remains the same. The Diamond frame still stands strong holding the Telescopic forks at the front and Coil spring/oil damper with Swingarm at the rear.

The overall dimensions of the bike are 2050mm x 760mm x 1100mm (l x w x h). With kerb weight of 134kg and seat height of 800mm, it sports a wheelbase of 1,320mm and minimum ground clearance of 165mm, which is fine for Indian roads.

The bike gets a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres.

Tyres and Braking

Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0 has been fixed with 2.75-17M/C 41P front tyre and 100/90-17M/C 55P rear tyre. Both of these are tubeless tyres designed specially for the bike, which provides better grip.

Fitted with 5-spoke alloy wheels, the front wheel sports a 245mm Hydraulic disc brake and the rear one with 130mm drum brake.
