From funny to heartfelt -- readers share in their special messages for their moms on Mother's Day.

Shareen Robin from Mumbai penned a few lines about her Amma.

"It's that time of the year when I am obsessively scrolling through Instagram or Pinterest to find the perfect Mother's Day caption," she writes.

"As I tirelessly scroll through zillion caption ideas, I am wondering, 'What do I tell Amma this year that she hasn't heard before?'

"I could think of nothing that she already has not heard from me.

"I was super tempted to copy-paste a conventional cheesy Mother's Day quote on our picture.

"That's when I realised a borrowed caption won't do justice to you!

"So here I am, writing down a few lines on Amma.

"Honestly, you are one of the most annoyingly stubborn people I have known!

"But you are also the funniest -- you can leave everyone from your friends to our family in splits.

"You are strong and graceful, kind and super goofy (now I know from where I get my goofiness).

"Thank you for being so unabashedly you. You inspire me to live life on my own terms.

"Wishing my safe space a very Happy Amma's Day.

"I am glad we made the transition from 'Please don't tell Amma' to 'I need to discuss this with Amma."

Gaurav Sikroria from Delhi shares a heartfelt message for his late mother Rekha Sikroria.

"Happy Mother's Day mom! You'll remain forever in my heart," he writes.

"It has been a year since she left us and not a single day has gone by without remembering her.

"After a struggle of 11 odd years and numerous complications in her pregnancy, she was gifted with a beautiful girl (my sister), who cared of mom till her last breath.

"My mom was a homemaker, but everyone who'd meet her would always ask if she was a teacher. That question from a stranger would make her so happy.

"She was the eldest daughter-in-law in a family of five brothers and a sister, who were all were studying in college or school, when she got married to dad.

"But she took care for each one of them selflessly and lovingly despite the hardships and responsibilities.

"Apart from being highly educated -- she had a double MA -- she was a brilliant cook and used to knit well.

"Her homemade pickles, fruit cake, aam panna were simply delicious, and she gifted many of her beautifully hand-knit bedsheets and sweaters to our family members.

"She was never after the materialistic pursuits. If I can recall, her proudest moment was seeing me receiving a gold medal for academic excellence in my MBA programme.

"She was compassionate, dignified, and was loved and respected by all.

My mother and father fought all odds, hardships and numerous health challenges, but never compromised on our education and dreams.

"The day God called her to his heavenly home, we felt as if a portion of all of us had left in one go.

"Such were her deeds that even God chose to call her peacefully in her sleep, without any of pain.

"Today as I remember her as my guardian angel, my heart is filled with memories of her.

"Though life will go on without her, it won't ever be the same."
