"I want to get the video of Fighting All Alone out. It's a beautiful song and I want it to make a difference for street children. Another option is to go with this NGO called Harmony, which found the song applicable for elderly and ignored citizens. I want this song to stimulate people to help out."
"Then I want to start a society in colleges where students can help make a difference. I did that in IIM-A. We had a society called Prayaas, wherein students would go and teach street children. I might even get Fighting All Alone T-shirts printed and donate part of the proceeds to charity. Let's see how it goes."
"Then of course, there is making music for films, because that will help me reach out to a wider audience. I also look at music as a vehicle for a message. This one is for street children; there could be another one for something else. In the West, people have sung war songs, but it makes a difference only when the artist is very popular. And that will only happen when I get into films."
When asked what he really wanted to do, this multi-faceted musician laughs and says, "At heart I'm a song writer. I like singing too, but my real passion is writing songs. Right now, it just feels great to have started making money and doing well. During the initial year, I wasn't making any money. I expected my career to have taken off a lot sooner than it did. The thing is, before you enter an industry, you don't know how it works. I thought I'd have my album in a few months and by the end of the year, the whole country would know about me!"
"But then I realised that it would take time and that I'd need to be patient. And now I've realised that I need to enter films."
