Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan

February 6, 2009
King Khan's real-life romance was just as filmi, if not more, than the average Bollywood flick. Gauri was a Hindu, Shah Rukh a Muslim and a struggling actor and her parents were completely against an intercaste marriage. Although they were madly in love, Shah Rukh was admittedly 'insanely possessive' about her and she tired of his unreasonable ways, so she left Delhi to visit Mumbai with friends.

Shah Rukh followed in hot pursuit, searching the city's beaches, knowing she loved the sea shore. You'd think that it was like searching for a needle in a haystack, but track her down he finally did at Aksa Beach, on his last day when his financial resources were all but gone. She was standing in the water, they met, hugged, cried and promised to be together always -- a little later down the line, they were married.
