Sameer Stall for health freaks

The next haunt is across the street and on Ranade road. Here you cannot miss Sameer Stall, another takeaway joint, very popular among the singles and working couples. On some days, they have steamed rice Modaks, popularly called Ukdi Modak, which are otherwise available only during Ganesh Chathurti.

The best part about this stall is, besides the three to four varieties of Subzis, Usal, rice, Masala Bhaat, Pulao, Puran Polis, rice Bhakris and Chapattis, one also gets Jowar, Nachni and Bajri Bhakris. It's a boon for the health freak. Not only are these Bhakris made with no oil, but they're also great substitutes for rice and wheat. There's also roasted Chakris. This is made like the conventional ones but the oil is extracted from them after they are fried. It tastes good, if not better, than the deep-fried conventional variety.
