What: Triumphant Institute of Management Education (TIME) announces Aqua Regia 2008, a science quiz for school students across the country. The event is open to students of all streams from Standard VIII, IX and X, and will be conducted in over 35 cities across the country.

Details of the event

~ Prizes worth more than Rs 12 lakhs are up for grabs, including a total cash prize of more than Rs 9 lakh.

~ The objective is to encourage students to look beyond text-books and establish the connection between what they learn at school and the application of these concepts.

~ A school can nominate any number of teams of two members each.

~ All participating teams have to take part in a written preliminary round that is conducted at the school itself. The top team from each school qualifies for the city finals at each city. The winners from each city finals qualify for the Zonal Finals, and the winners of each zone qualify for the National Finals to be held in Hyderabad in November.

~ All expenses for the travel of the teams and an accompanying adult to the Zonal and National finals will be borne by TIME.

~ While all the finalists will be awarded merit certificates and all students will be given participation certificates through their schools, the winners, even at the city level, will also take home cash prizes and gifts worth Rs 25,000/-.

~ Registration and participation is free.
