Coconut Laddu
Ingredients
2 cups coconut, grated
1 1/2 cups khoa or milk solid
1 1/2 sugar
1/2 tsp green cardamom or elaichi, ground
3 tbsp raisins or any other dry fruit or nuts of your choice
Saffron, optional
Method
Mix all of the above. Roast in a kadhai or deep thick-bottomed pot.
When the sugar begin to melt and the mixture becomes stiff enough to be made into balls add elaichi and raisins or any other dry fruit/ nuts of your choice.
Add some saffron if you wish, but this is optional.
Take off heat and make laddus while mixture is still warm.

Ingredients
1 kg white flour or maida
1 tbsp salt or according to taste
1 cup ghee
1 1/2 tsp carom seeds or ajwain
1 1/2 tsp black onion or mangrail/ kalonji seeds
Oil for deep frying

Method
Mix all ingredients well and knead into a stiff dough with water. Roll out very thin and cut into diamonds or roll out thicker and cut into straight sticks and deep fry in oil till golden. Drain on paper towels to soak excess oil.
