With the immersion of idols in the evening of Bijoya Dashami, as the festivities come to an end, there is only one way to wrap it up -- with a plate full of Bengali sweets. There is a mind-boggling array of sweet shops all across the city, each competing with the other with new innovations and novelties in items.
Even for those who do not have a sweet tooth, it would be just short of a heavenly experience to try Amritakumbha and Lalmohan from K C Das (Esplanade East); Paradise Sandesh and Abar Khabo from Bhim Nag (5 Nirmal Chandra Street); Jalbhara Sandesh and assorted sweet thali from Nakur (56 Ramdulal Sarkar Street); as well as, Carrot Rosogolla and Ilish Pati from Hindustan Sweets (Jadavpur).
Navratri tunes on your mobile!
If one still has space to spare, why not make a stop over at:
Banchharam (19 Gariahat Road); Mouchak (Gol Park, Gariahat); Mithai (Begh Bagan); Nobin Chandra Das (77 Jatindra Mohan Avenue); Sen Mahasay (Rashbehari Avenue).
Here's wishing you a Happy Durga Puja and Shubho Bijoya!
