What: An upcoming production for a new opera by Jeet Thayil (Libretto) and Edward Rushton (Music), opening in India in Autumn 2009 and subsequently in Switzerland is looking for singers who enjoy acting, or actors who enjoy singing.
Details
~ Sample music will be sent to each applicant, which will serve as a basis for work during the audition.
~ It will be helpful if the singers are able to read western musical notation and have some experience in western classical music.
~ Along with the sample piece, applicants are asked to bring a performance piece of their choice. This may be opera, Indian classical, jazz, blues or folk music.
