Birla Institute opens admissions to BBA, BCA

What: The Birla Institute of Technology (Ranchi) announces admission for the 3-year (6-semester) BBA and BCA, 2008 at BIT Lalpur Campus.

Eligibility Criteria
~ Maximum age limit is 21 years on 01.10.2008, (26 years for SC/ST)
~ Pass in Class 10 with minimum aggregate 60 per cent (50 per cent for SC/ST) counting all required subjects.
~ Pass in Class 12/ Equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE) and with minimum aggregate 70 per cent (50 per cent for SC/ST) counting all required subjects.
~ For BBA Programme, the candidate must have passed in English in Class 12/QE
~ For BCA programme, the applicant must have passed in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Information Practices or Equivalent as one of the subject in class 12 or Equivalent QE

Selection Procedure
 ~ For BBA and BCA: Admission to the courses will be only on merit determined by the aggregate percentage marks obtained in the required subjects in Class 12/QE. Counselling will be held at the Institute's Lalpur Campus.

~ Candidates who have appeared for Class 12/QE in 2008 can also apply. They must produce marksheet of QE at the time of Counselling, alongwith other documents.

How to Apply
UG Information Brochure-A of 2008 with set of 2 application forms will be available on payment of Rs 500/- in person, and Rs 600/- by post from our campuses at addresses available on the website (all payments should be only by crossed Demand Draft in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi).

Postal requests must include letter and two slips of paper (10 x 10 cm) with name, address and phone number with UG A- 2008 written on the envelope. With each Brochure candidates will find a set of two application forms (non-transferable). Applicants may also download the application form and information brochure from Institute website (www.bitmesra.ac.in) after June 2, 2008, where the relevant instructions are also displayed.

Candidates applying for courses at Lalpur may also use the form for applying at other BIT Centres if desired. Candidates must send an application fee of Rs 250/- by crossed DD with each completed application form to their first choice of place for study for that programme by the date specified.
