What: The Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) has announced admissions to its 2008-2010 MBA programme at the institute itself in Mesra, Rachi and at its Extension Centres at Lalpur, Noida and Jaipur.
When: Candidates can collect the application forms:
~ In person from the institute between February 22, 2008 and April 21, 2008 on payment of Rs.1,200/- or
~ By post on payment of Rs.1,300/- (All payments are to be made by crossed DD in favour of Birla Institute of Technology, payable at Ranchi).
Postal requests must be received by April 15, 2008, and must include covering letter and two slips of paper (10x10 cm) with name, address in capitals and phone number.

To apply for the programme, eligible candidates may either:
~ Fill the printed form supplied with MBA 2008 application material, and send with enclosures (photographs, photocopies of certificates) to reach office of Dean Admissions, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi 835215, by April 30, 2008, or
~ Fill In the online application form on our website, and send printout with 2 photographs, crossed DD for Rs.1,200/- as above and photocopies of certificates by April 30, 2008, at the same address.
~ Important dates for online applications: The link for filling the online form will be active from 9 am on February 9, 2008 and will be closed at 4 pm on April 21, 2008.
~ The MBA 2008 Application Material and General Information Brochure can be obtained from all Centres at the addresses given on the institute's official website www.bitmesra.ac.in.
~ The Institute will use CAT 2007 for short-listing candidates for its full-time MBA programme. The IIM's have no role in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
Eligibility:
~ Candidates must have appeared in CAT 2007. They must hold a recognised Bachelor's degree (minimum 10+2+3) in any discipline, with 60 percent (50 percent for SC/ ST) marks in Honours/ aggregate of all subjects, they must also have passed in all subjects in Class 10 and Class 12 (excluding optional subjects) with minimum of 60 percent (50 percent for SC/ ST) marks in Class 10 (average of all subjects, excluding optional subjects) and Class 12 (average of best 5 subjects, excluding optional subjects).
~ Candidates graduating in 2008 can also apply, provided they can submit marksheets by October 31 2008. Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance-learning programmes are eligible only if they acquired such qualifications as working professionals/ while in employment.
~ Candidates must have Verbal Percentile Score of at least 40 (25 for SC/ ST) and Total Percentile Score of at least 40 (25 for SC/ ST) in CAT 2007.
Selection Procedure:
~ Provisional selections will be based on Total Percentile Scores in CAT 2007 of candidates who have applied and fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned above, due consideration being given to choice(s) of Place of Study.
If seats remain vacant at any Centre, there may be subsequent notification(s) on the official website. No separate intimations will be sent to candidates.
