How much?

You can purchase these handsets either through the open market or from the mobile service provider along with the subscription and charges.

The open market offers a better price (do check for the genuine stuff).

Service providers like Hutch and Airtel generally sell the Blackberry handsets at the maximum retail price, though if you go for bulk purchase, you may get some discount.

Some online shopping portals offer huge discounts and EMIs (equated monthly instalments) on the Blackberry handsets. You can get a basic Blueberry handset (Blackberry 7290) for Rs 7500 or EMIs of Rs 2500 for three month, interest-free EMI from these web sites.

The mobile service operators also provide interest free EMIs, but again, you would be buying on the maximum retail price.

Cons

Some demerits of RIM handsets:

~Certain RIM handsets do not provide enough memory to store all your data / applications that you might need
~The Blackberry handsets are not the best looking handsets around. A few non-RIM handsets steal the show in the looks department.
