Indian students going abroad for studies need not fret at 'shedding' their extra weight; they can now carry their 'world' with them, literally.

Students travelling with British Airways can carry extra luggage of upto 23 kilos.

The provision will come into effect on June 1 and extend till October 31.

Students planning to travel abroad will have to book their tickets before the end of September.

They must ensure they have a signed, valid passport and visas for the countries they intend to go to. The consular information sheets and travel warnings for destination countries must be adhered to.

Students are also advised to leave copies of their itineraries, passport data page and visas with their families so that they can be contacted in case of emergency.

Are you are student who is now studying abroad? Share your experiences and advice with other students who will be studying abroad soon. Write in to us at getahead@rediff.co.in.
