When I was a kid I used to believe in Ghosts thanks to the many paranormal stories from my grandma. Since childhood I have been deeply fascinated by the dark side of life like death, ghosts, etc ; a fascination I carry till today. In my teens my priorities were different and I didn't give too much thought to it. In my early adult life, my rational mind dismissed all these as hogwash. But somehow the thirst for answers to the perennial questions remained -- What really happens after death? Can so many seemingly true encounters of people with ghosts be false? Is there reincarnation? Etc. I also knew there was something that I was missing because I had been a personal witness to a few tantric exorcisms and the immediate relief the people experienced. I needed answers and I needed them desperately.

My date with destiny came about 3 years back when my life crossed with that of a Living Master. Under his aegis, I underwent a deep spiritual transformation. My priorities in life changed drastically. All my earlier misdirected energies now had to find a different path to flow into. I decided to plunge myself into research of metaphysics and occult. The process of synchronocity set in. Things started revealing itself to me. I was led from one book to another. Most of the perennial secrets of mankind has already been revealed in these great books already. All one has to do is dedicatedly research with an open mind setting aside personal idealogies. Its not just books, one has to be open to experiences as well. I also had a sudden interest in Alternate Healing and got attuned in Reiki. If one wants to get a taste of this mysterious world, one has to experience alternate healing. My wife who has been an ardent atheist since childhood started believing in God when through my hands she was healed of a leg pain in 5 mins. She really wanted to know how the magic happened. The common saying that we are all Gods can be personally experienced through sciences like Reiki, Pranic Healing etc. whether you're on either side -- as patient or as Healer.

My most recent experience with the paranormal happened in early 2005 when we had relocated to a new country and had moved into a new flat. Normally most people perform religious rituals such as pujas, spiritual cleansing etc to ward away the negative energies in a dwelling before they occupy it. Since I had given up on organized religion and its practices as part of my transformation, I didn't feel the need to perform any rituals. The night we moved in, my wife started experiencing severe internal allergies and her skin started to bloat externally and internally with the swelling on her windpipe causing her to choke. She had never had any allergy attacks before in 26 years of her life. I rushed her to the hospital in the middle of the night and for next 3 days doctors worked on her zealously. She was injected with all kinds of steriods and doctors simply couldn't zero down the trigger to anything in particular. The incident passed and we came back home and tried to start life anew. And then one by one the new equipments in the house started breaking down. First the fridge, then the washing machine, then the AC. It was like cancer -- it just kept spreading. My new plants had also died one by one. When I came back from office everyday, I used to feel drained entering the home. There were many more incidents that happened there for a few more months in which we were constantly harrassed.

Then one day my Reiki Master who is a Clarivoyant & psychic decided to visit my home. He said there was a female entity in my house. He said not to worry about it because he sensed it was a weak one. He advised me on how to send it away as spirits have a tendency to play with children in the house and also feed off on our energies causing us to feel drained. I realised that it was this entity that had all along harrassed my wife and caused us problems. I was slightly skeptical though as this was the first time I was dealing with psychics. Exactly 3 days later, a colleague of mine visited on a project from India. He was a psychic and an advanced practitioner of Pranic Healing. Without me talking about the subject, he too told me that he sensed a female entity in the house. I then told him about what my Master had said and he adviced me to do as what he recommended. I then used Reiki to cleanse my house for 7 days in a row and requested the spirit entity to embrace light and move on to a higher plane. Soon after our fortunes changed for the better and lady luck embraced us once again. But I was determined to research this experience of mine more. And 200 books later, I am still continuing.

I will now try to share with you some possible explanations for this phenomena as per what has been revealed to me in the last few years. This comes with a strict disclaimer that it is my personal understanding and I have no arguments or qualms with anyone who thinks otherwise. Neither do I claim to be an authority on this subject. I will also try to avoid abstract language and be simple as much as possible.

It is said that when physical death happens to a mortal, he transitions into a plane known as Astral Plane. Religion calls this Heaven & Hell. In reality there is no Heaven or Hell but a Heavenish or Hellish experience we create for ourselves in the astral planes depending on our belief systems. It is said that when we pass over from the mortal realms we are approached by a bright light or a tunnel effect which seems to draw us to it. It is a loving light which beckons us to it and normally we see our loved ones who passed over earlier or the spirit of some highly evolved Masters. They ask us to embrace the light and move over to the next plane where there can be a Life Review of the immediate past life. But the soul is not forced. It is given a choice to exert its free will and choose its own experience. So the souls who do not move over end up mainly as earth bound entities or as we know them -- Ghosts. And most of these cases that are earth bound are the ones that experienced a violent death in the form of murder, accident, suicide etc. Also certain entities feel that they have some unfinished work left on this earth and do not pass over until they see it finished eg. Patrick Swayze in the movie 'Ghost'. Now everything is energy whether it is a human being or whether it is a spirit. Humans are the grossest or densest form of energy. If these 'ghosts' need to survive on our earth they need to feed off on our energies. That's how we have stories of possessions, hauntings, eerie sounds etc from all over the world. And these entities tend to live in unoccuppied spaces. So houses and hotel rooms that have been vacant for a long time are easy hauntings for them. A famous case I remember is when cricketer Shane Warne had a brush with one such spirit in his hotel room in England. A few other players also complained of 'disturbances' that night.

I have found that these entities normally don't have more power than the Human will. We can actually command it to move on. If done with love, the better. But there are cases of powerful entities like Diabolic spirits which are very strong and that's when you need to seek the help of tantriks and exorcists. Rather than being afraid of them it's the opportune time to be compassionate. Love conquers all. Most spirits don't even know that their dead like Bruce Willis in the movie 'The Sixth Sense'. What these spirits need is love and light to transition. So if your affected and if you don't have external help in hand, just pray to God and also send love to the entity requesting it to move over. In most cases it will. I have also personally realised the value of certain religious rituals which create certain positive vibrations inside a home or an office. Nowadays many people use CD's of mantras and chants to increase the vibrations inside their homes. Even if negative entities don't exist, these rituals clear the space of emotions and thought forms of the earlier occupant. And the other best solution if one doesn't believe in all this is to Meditate. It increases the vibrations inside a home. One can also increase his/her vibrations by being high in enthusiasm (for the non-religious & non-meditators). Also a home where there are no fights between the occupants and there is so much of love, the positive vibrations in that house will be very high. Why should it be positive & high? - well u can personally achieve anything u want in the quickest timeframes possible. For most others with low vibrations, life seems like an eternal struggle.

Now for the curious who want to dabble with spirits -- my personal advice is its better you stay off them if you have nothing good to offer or ur intentions are not to help them. If your in Healing arts like Reiki & Pranic Healing etc, u can send them healing energy & love so as to help them move on to a higher plane for redemption.

If you dont know how to ensure ur personal protection with 'grounding', its better you dont mess with them. I personally know of a few people who just for the sake of curiosity, dabbled in 'Ouija boards' and 'seances' to disastrous effects. By calling them forth during such rituals and asking them to prove their presence by 'switching on a light' etc you give them a path or a leeway to enter ur plane. And then it becomes difficult to ward them off.

We already have our hands full with problems in our own plane. So my 2 cents is that - unless your a sincere student of paranormalcy (in which case you will be taught how to protect yourself) - please dont dabble with spirits for your own good sake.

Now the positive spinoffs of my research was that I came to understand certain concepts of life better. The God concept, the Law of Attraction, how to be constantly blissful and peaceful, how to attract abundance to you etc. Now these concepts can be used now to lead our current life better. Many books have been written on these topics by eminent personalities like Medical Doctors, Quantum Physicists, Scientists etc. So I am in elite company if some of you think that the above is total BS. My personal belief is that more information on these sciences need to be spread. People need to understand what 'effects', their 'causes' are having on this world and how they will reap what they sow. Without the awareness of these vital information, some of the biggest religions in the world are warring with each other and committing atrocities in the name of God. We need to understand our personal responsibilities in keeping this world a humane place to live in and stop certain vicious cycles from continuing.
