Players are split up in two teams - terrorists and counter-terrorists. Different game types offer different objectives such as bomb defusals and hostage rescues.

Over the years, the game has evolved steadily with regular free updates (though the game itself is not free) which add features such as newer weapons, better graphics and playable environments or maps.
