Remember those long days when you just sat at your desk with no work, waiting for work hours to get over. Or the days when you had loads of work, yet left work at 6, pushing the work on to the next day.
Those attendance musters and the swipe cards. None of that applies if you are self-employed. In most cases, early on the schedule looks more like 8 am - 10 pm instead of the comfortable 9 am - 5 pm routine. The business hinges on your initiative, and when it comes down to delivering, no timelines apply.
Work pressure and the added responsibility almost make long work hours a certainty during the early years of being self-employed.
