Skirts look trendy 'n' smart

Deepti's sense of style is not dictated by brands. She shops smart, mixing and matching retail with street fashion. She buys clothes from stores like Shopper's Stop and Lifestyle (especially when there's a sale) and teams them with accessories like jewellery, belts and shoes from roadside stalls on Linking Road in Bandra, Mumbai.

Deepti's top mantra: While shopping, she always ensures her clothes fit well.

She doesn't follow fashion trends blindly, but rummages through magazines like Vogue and Elle for inspiration. Her favourite colours are black, turquoise blue and white. And, unlike many working executives who stick to trousers, Deepti likes skirts, and experiments with both formal and casual ones.

The dress code tends to be more relaxed in media companies, so Deepti can come to work casually dressed (except when she must meet a client). Here, she pairs a basic blue ganghi (Rs 199 from Shopper's Stop) with a dressy white skirt (Rs 300 from) Shopper's Stop. When she wants to look demure, she throws on a stole (Rs 45 from Linking Road).

In the second image, she is more formally dressed in a green shirt (Rs 450 from Weekenders) and striped skirt (650 Baht from Bangkok) that ends just below the knees.
