Where to stay
Plantations are the best places to stay while in Coorg. There are vast spice and coffee plantations in the suburbs of Medikeri, and one can stay at the home of an estate owner for as little as Rs 1,000 per day, inclusive of breakfast. One can stay at a plantation only if one knows the owners though, or by going through local travel agents.

Home stays
Locals allow tourists to live in their homes for tariffs starting from Rs 600 a couple, per day.
