Dhokla: A healthier option?
Weight-watchers will be happy to know that dhokla is a healthier snack any day. This is usually made using dals that are first fermented, then steamed.
Both these processes are oil-free and good for the digestive system. What's more, the oil is poured from the top for flavouring and the amount can easily be kept in check for the calorie conscious. The dals also contribute to some amount of iron. Overall, this can make for a great evening snack, provided you control the oil used in the garnishing. Here's the health equation.
Khaman Dhokla (4 pieces) (220 calories) (6 gms fat) = 44 minutes of swimming
Besides being low fat, dhoklas usually make you feel full for 2-3 hours and are definitely a healthier snack compared to the vada pav.
