If you have been a regular at the gym and are fairly familiar with the exercises, you can save your monthly gym fees by setting up your own gym.
We show you how to do this without spending too much money or wasting too much space in your home.
Here is what you should invest in.
Exercise mat
Exercise mats are easily available in most sports shops.
You can use it for doing yoga, pilates or freehand exercises on the floor for your abs (floor crunches), legs (leg lifts for thighs, butt) and even your back (hyperextensions).
Make sure it is not slippery and is easy to wipe.
Go for a mat that is at least one inch thick.
Price: Rs 250 to Rs 1,400, depending on the type you buy. It's not a good idea to buy the ones available for Rs 250; they are very thin and do not provide enough support.
You have branded and unbranded varieties. Good brands include Reebok and Cosco. The non-branded mats that cost approximately between Rs 600-800 are good.
