What: The Union Public Service Commission invites applications for the Engineering Services Examination, 2006.
Are you eligible?
i. Age limit
You must have been born not earlier than August 1, 1976, and not later than August 1, 1985. You must be at least 21 years old and less than 30 years old as on August 1, 2006.
ii. Educational qualification
~ You must have a degree in engineering or its equivalent.
~ You must have an MSc or its equivalent with one of the following as a special subject.
- Wireless communication
- Electronics
- Radio physics
- Radio engineering
iii. Physical standards
~ You must be fit as per the guidelines given in Appendix-II of the rules for the Engineering Services Examination, 2006. You can get a free copy of the guidelines by writing to the commission for the same.
~ You must pay the commission Rs 100 through a single Central Recruitment Fee stamp. You can get the stamp from any post office.
Important date
~ Your application form must reach the commission before February 6.
~ You can send your filled-in form by February 16 if you reside in any of these places:
- Assam
- Meghalaya
- Arunachal Pradesh
- Mizoram
- Manipur
- Nagaland
- Tripura
- Sikkim
- Jammu & Kashmir
- Lahual and Spiti districts, Himachal Pradesh
- Pangi sub-division of Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh
- Andaman & Nicobar islands
- Lakshadweep
How to apply
~ Pay Rs 20 to the designated head post offices/ post offices to get:
- Application form
- Information brochure containing general instructions for filling the form
- An acknowledgement card
- An envelope for sending the application
~ You must only use the form supplied with the information brochure.
~ You must purchase the form from designated post offices only and not from any other agency.
~ You must not use a photocopy/ reproduction/ unauthorisedly printed copy of the form.
~ You can use each form only once and for only one examination.
