What: The College of Nursing, AFMC, Pune, invites applications for admission to their BSc (Nursing)/ General Nursing and Midwifery courses.
Course duration
~ BSc (Nursing) Training: Four years, beginning August/ September.
~ Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery: Three-and-a-half years, beginning August/ September.
Am I eligible?
~ You must be an Indian.
~ You must be female.
~ You must be unmarried or a divorcee/ legally separated or a widow without encumbrances.
~ Your date of birth must be between January 1, 1981, and January 1, 1989.
~ You should have passed your Senior Secondary (Class XII) exam or its equivalent as a regular student from a recognised Board/ University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. You must have scored minimum 50 percent marks.
~ You must meet the physical fitness standards laid down by the military authorities.
~ You should be at least 142 cm tall.
~ You need to get a chest X-ray done.
How to apply
~ Send in your details, in typed block letters, on plain paper (21 cm x 36 cm).
~ Applications received after the last date will neither be opened nor entertained.
~ Applications received on a newspaper cutting or its photocopy will not be entertained.
~ The office will not be responsible for any postal delay.
~ The aforesaid conditions are subject to modification without notice.
~ No correspondence will be entertained from candidates whose applications have been rejected.

Selection procedure
~ Eligible candidates will be called for an objective-type 90 minute written test in February/ March in the following subjects:
- English
- Biology
- General Intelligence.
Parts of question paper pertaining to Biology and General Intelligence will be bilingual.

~ The number of centres may change as per the number of candidates appearing for the written test.
~ If selected as per merit on the basis of written test, you will be called for interview during April/ May.
~ The final selection will be made on the basis of your performance in the written test and interview, subject to medical fitness.
Mandatory Medical Examination
~ The candidates on the final shortlist will have to appear for a medical examination before a Special Medical Board.
~ If declared temporarily unfit or unfit, you will be informed by the president of the medical board regarding the procedure for requesting for a re-medical/ appeal/ Review Medical Board.
Post-selection formalities
~ If selected, you need to sign an agreement/ bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service for five years.
~ On successful completion of your training, you will be granted commission in the Military Nursing service, under the terms and conditions laid down for the grant of such a commission.
~ If you withdraw from the course or refuse to accept a commission in the MNS, if offered, you will have to refund the entire cost of the training.
