What: Oxfam India invites applications for the following positions:

~ Humanitarian Programme Coordinator

Location: Kolkata

Salary: Rs 6,22,400 gross per annum.

~ Programme Officer – Gender

Location: Ahmedabad

Salary: Rs 3,99,500 gross per annum.

Do you qualify?

Oxfam says:

For Humanitarian Programme Coordinator

~ You must have a master's degree in Social Sciences with an understanding and exposure to humanitarian issues in India, particularly East India.

~ You will bring experience in quality programme management, planning and monitoring, advocacy, networking and alliance building skills.

~ You will also be required to manage the humanitarian programme, including developing programme proposals and policies, people management, donor reporting, budgetary management, co-ordination with the government, UN and other NGO networks.

~ You should have good analytical and strategic planning skills and effective co-ordination and leadership skills and capacity.

~ You must to be familiar with and abide by the NGO/ Red Cross Code of Conduct, the People in Aid Code, Sphere Minimum Standards.

~ You must be committed to humanitarian principles and action and should be sensitive to cultural differences.

~ You must have a high degree of commitment to equality and diversity in humanitarian response programme.

~ You must have a minimum of five years relevant work experience.

~ You must be fluent in English and Hindi.

~ Basic working knowledge of Oriya/ Bengali/ Assamese languages would be an added advantage.

For Programme Officer – Gender

~ You must have a master's degree in Social Sciences with an understanding and exposure to development issues in India, particularly West India.

~ You must have a very strong gender perspective.

~ The position requires:

  • High level of research and policy analysis
  • Planning and monitoring
  • Media communication
  • Advocacy
  • Networking/ alliance building abilities and evaluation skills
  • Expertise to develop a programme and campaign on gender issues
  • Liaison with senior government officials, reputed NGO's and academicians

~ You must have a good understanding of the rights-based development approach with high degree of commitment to address equality and diversity issues from a poverty perspective.

~ You must have a minimum of five years of relevant work experience.

~ You must be fluent in English and Hindi.

~ Knowledge of any other language of West India (Gujarati/ Marathi) will be desirable.
