You may think you are fashion conscious and, in all probability, you are. However, it is quite possible you may be committing some of fashion's most common faux pas.
This, probably, is because these fashion traps are so basic that you fail to notice them.
We list here some common fashion faux pas most women tend to make and how to avoid them
I love my baggy, shapeless tops
Sweatshirts, sweat pants and huge baggy t-shirts are no doubt very comfortable and perfect for slouching on the sofa while watching television.
But wearing any of these for work, parties, etc, is a no-no; they do not flatter your body at all.
"Baggy clothes make you look bigger; it seems like you have instantly added a few extra pounds," says fashion designer and fashion consultant Narendra Kumar.
Another problem with oversized clothes is drooping shoulder lines; they make your shoulders look rounded and small.
So, the next time you are out shopping, try to find clothes that lightly skim your figure (not too fitting, not too loose). Avoid baggy cotton shirts.
It's better to opt for slim-fit shirts -- they have darts at the back and front, which give your torso a good shape.
While buying a kurtas, choose one with slits on the sides. They make you look slimmer and taller.
In case you just can't let go of your comfort clothes, compromise. Never combine two baggy clothes. If you are wearing baggy pants, pair it with a good fitting top and vice versa.
