Designer: Suchitra Ayappa Mehta for Yellow Bohemian

Suchitra describes her collection as "completely my own designs," inspired from nature, and very organic. The pieces include sofas, chairs, end-tables (small tables that can be used in corners of rooms to place things like plants on), bar units, bookshelves, and CD racks often featuring hand-painted designs. As an animal rights activist, Suchitra does not use leather.

Suchitra’s picks

She picks a striking black and white ottoman (a padded, upholstered seat without arms, often used as a stool or footrest) upholstered with textile she brought back from Stratford and featuring, who else but the English village's most famous resident, Shakespeare.

Perfect for your reading corner in the living room!

For her second pick, Suchitra chooses a mirror-topped table. "A mirror is really pretty and I’m tired of seeing them on walls," she says.
