President APJ Abdul Kalam: Our solar system Sun has got nine planets. In one planet like earth, we have developed life. Whereas in our galaxy alone there are millions and millions of stars. Each star may have number of planets, the probability of advanced society and less advanced society may be the possibility. The Saturn V is the biggest rocket designed under the direction of Werher Von Braun of Marshall Space Flight Center. India is also developing such type of rockets.


Vinith Kurian (Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie,Uttaranchal State, 13 yrs): Can you give a chance to visit the Rashtrapathi Bhawan library to see the rare collection of books you have and advise the books one should read so that a student can get inspired and do well in life and serve the nation.

President APJ Abdul Kalam: Definitely you can visit sending an email to Rashtrapati Bhavan. We have digitised 15,000 books. Rashtrapati Bhavan library abstracts can be accessed digitally through the URL http://www.dli.ernet.in. Very soon you will have the access of full books through our website.


sundar (National High School, Nagapatinam, 15 yrs): Sir, This may be a question for many indians, may be not understood. Why there is no plan for connecting all the rivers of India ? For how long at one end we starve and in another end we see flood ? Thanks for your time. You are my inspiration. Regards, Sundar

President APJ Abdul Kalam: The nation has formed a task team that will bring out a project report to link the major rivers of the nation, so that the flood and drought can be minimised. Now, regional linking of rivers has already commenced. You may be aware about Ken-Betwa linkage, which has been approved by Madhya Pradesh and UP Government. Many others will follow.


Pooja Kondo (K.T.H.M.COLLEGE, NASIK, 15 yrs): Sir, Being the deveoped country we should now have the organisation like NASA in India for space research. We Indians are brilliant enough for the same. Can I expect that this wish will be surely fullfied by the most talented person like u which now is also the top level person in the country?

President APJ Abdul Kalam: We already have ISRO, which has developed world class satellites and launch vehicles. Moon mission is scheduled in 2007 with the payload orbiting around the moon.
