Day Three: Whacky battles traditional

December 23 saw no abating in the action at Mood I.

The day was a combination of whacky and traditional contests, performances and workshops.

The Indian Express organised a journalistic competition.

A documentary, Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land On The Moon?, was screened. Participants had to write an article based on the documentary. The prizes included an opportunity to work for The Financial Express.

Creative juices were simultaneously flowing in the SOM foyer at the T-Shirt Designing competition, with themes ranging from world peace to expression of freedom.

Extempore saw funny as well as controversial topics like 'If Superman Wore His Underwear On The Inside' and 'If Patna Was The Capital Of India'.

Western Solo Vocals as well as Group Western Vocals saw noteworthy performances.

Ball room dancingThe English Debate was the highlight of the day. Parliamentary Debating was introduced for the first time with grand success.

IIT Bombay won, beating St Xavier's, also from Mumbai, by a whisker. The debates saw some excellent points being raised, and a few raised voices as well!

Ball Room Dancing is another new addition to Mood Indigo. There was some energetic, lively and colourful performances. St Xavier's, Mumbai, walked off with top honours with University of Mumbai, Department of Chemical Technology coming in second.

The miniature painting exhibition showcased some very good art, especially the different depictions of Lord Krishna.

The Cha Cha Cha workshop continued infusing the dancing fever at Mood Indigo for the second day.

Ink LandscapesInk Landscapes saw enthusiastic participants learning the nuances of sketching in ink.

The Hindi and English Drama finals drew a huge turnout, which was to be expected given the high level of talent on display.

One of the crowd pullers was the Film Panel Debate between Asif Zakaria and Nagesh Kukunoor; the topic was money in films. Other aspects of film-making were discussed as well, especially during the interactive session between the audience and the filmmakers.

The second and third round of Mr and Ms Mood I saw the PYTs in full force at the convocation foyer. While they competed for top honours in the personality contest, the audience was busy with the freebies on offer!

The Hysteria DJing finals, held at the poolside, also gathered a lively crowd. Funky beats got the crowd to its feet as the wannabe DJs displayed their act. The crowd finally got its heart's desire when judges DJ Suketu and DJ Nasha decided to show how it's really done!

Day Three drew to a close with the huge crowd waiting to see the Pohankar Brothers of Piya bawari fame perform alongside the popular Colonial Cousins, Hariharan and Leslie Lewis.
