Meet Pattiyal star Bharath

After Boys, did your ambition change?

Not exactly. Boys was just an introduction to films. I also didn't expect many offers to come after it because I didn't have much acting to do in the film. Till Jayaraj's 4 The People happened, I wasn't sure about taking acting as a career. When that film became a huge hit, I decided on acting as a career. Till then, I wasn't too keen on it as a profession.

Even in 4 The People, it was your dancing that stood out. The song Lajjavathiye became a rage in Kerala.

That's true. But, as many say, movies are addictive. The success of 4 The People made me more passionate about films. When it became a hit and people began appreciating me, I felt I also could do something worthwhile in films.

Was it the fame that then attracted you to films?

Definitely. I didn't become a known figure after Boys. In 4 The People too, it was my dancing that became a hit. But the adulation and fame that came after 4 The People was addictive. Nothing came fast for me; it was a slow process.
