Devdas -- now in Bengali Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas isn't the only Devdas that will be released this year. The Bengali version will be directed by Shakti Samanta, veteran filmmaker of blockbusters such as Aradhana, and Amanush. The film stars Prasanjit as Devdas along with Indrani Halder, Arpita Paul and Tapas Paul. The film will release around the same time as Bhansali's version.
Abhishek gets off the hook
A city court acquitted Abhishek Bachchan, Bhavesh Thakkar and Tanya Behl when the trio were involved in a brawl with two photo journalists on the sets of Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai. A settlement was reached between the two parties on May 4, 2002. They were chargesheeted for assaulting Indian Express photographer Mustafa Qureshi and freelance photographer Umesh Puri on the sets of the film in New Delhi in April 2001.
Spider-Man takes Harry Potter for a Spin! Spider-Man has grossed a record breaking $ 114 million in its opening week, beating the record set by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone last year, which was $ 96 million. Spider-Man has rocketed its way up to the top spot in the US box office. It has also set highest single day earnings with Saturday's gross of $43.7 million beating Potter's $33.5 million.
