FRAMES 2002 gets underway
Also in attendance were several members of the film fraternity including Hema Malini, Mohan Agashe, Sai Paranjpye, Deepa Sahi and Ramesh Sippy. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was conducted by actress Aishwarya Rai. But the address of the day clearly belonged to veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who insisted that the industry needed to accept change.
Album of Lagaan's dialogues to be released
A new promotional tactic by Sony Music sees the release of Aamir Khan's blockbuster Lagaan's dialogues on a double album set. The new album will also feature an additional song Zin Zinak Zin. The song, which is sung as a preparation for the cricket match in the film, is part of the film's DVD format but hasn't been seen before on the large screen.
Kajol's driver arrested for theft
The driver of film actress Kajol was arrested here last night from his Newada village on charges of stealing Rs five lakh from Kajol's residence. The driver -- Raju Singh -- is accused of stealing the amount in cash from the residence of the film actress while she was in America in connection with a film's shooting. An F I R to this effect had been lodged with the Santacruz police station in Mumbai and the accused was absconding for the past several months. Police recovered a Tata Sumo from his possession which he had purchased with the the stolen amount. The Mumbai police has been informed of the arrest, police said. UNI
Celina to spice up your life Actress Celina Jaitley plans to start chain of restaurants called Celina Kolkata Spice. The first hotel will open in Kolkata in March 2003 and if it fares well, she hopes to expand and move to New Delhi.
