A love story set against Bollywood, Bombay Dreams marks the first time a show with an all-Asian star cast is being performed in London.
The play revolves around a starry-eyed slum dweller, Akaash (Raza Jaffrey), who dreams of becoming a Bollywood star. He meets movie mogul Madan (Dilip Tahil), who helps him achieve his dream. Madan is later murdered by the mafia and his daughter Priya (Preeya Kalidas) takes over his business. Akaash, who is now a star, falls in love with Priya. Later, though, he becomes disillusioned with the tinsel world and seeks out his roots again. |
