After creating a splash in world of Tamil cinema, director Saran seems all set to make his debut in Hindi films.
Often mistaken for Ram Gopal Varma owing to the similarity in their looks, Saran made his directorial debut with Kaadhal Mannan.
It was with Amarkalam, his next film, that Saran figured out the audience's pulse. This action-packed love story went on to become a blockbuster.
Buoyed by the box office reaction, Saran has now decided to debut in Hindi using the same successful formula. While the original Tamil version starred Ajith (seen in Kandukondain Kandukondain and Asoka) and Shalini, the Hindi version will star Bollywood's current toast, Vivek Oberoi. The rest of the cast and crew who will feature in this film are still being finalised.
Interestingly, the Ajith-Shalini off-screen romance, which began with on the sets of Amarkalam resulted in their marriage and Shalini's retirement from the world of cinema.
But Oberoi, who made an impressive debut as a hotheaded mafioso in Ram Gopal Varma's Company, seems to have his eyes firmly focused on his career. Besides this untitled project, he also stars in Shaad Ali's Saathiya (with Rani Mukherji) and Rajat Mukherjee's Road (with Manoj Bajpai and Antara Mali).
