Maa Tujhe Salaam climbs to top spot

Sunny Deol Maa Tujhe Salaam got off to a roaring start with its release last week. In the crucial Mumbai circuit, the film's opening day collections were a high 95.55 per cent.

Though critics were unimpressed with the film, the film with its anti-Pakistan dialogues and mindless action have make it popular with the front-benchers. We hear that this Sunny Deol starrer has now dethroned K3G, which spent five weeks at the Number 1 position at the BO.

Vashu : Publicity King

It takes more than a couple of flops to keep producer Vashu Bhagnani down. His next film Om Jai Jagdish is far from over, but the producer has already begun with his publicity campaign.

Bhagnani has circulated wall calendars and pocket-sized calendars of this Anil-Fardeen-Abhishek starrer. Now you know why he's called the publicity king.

Raveena for a good cause

Raveena Raveena Tandon has joined hands with Saathi, an organisation that works for the betterment of street children.

Raveena recently bought the organisation a room in Andheri to provide accommodation for the growing population of street children.

The actress even intends to work hands on with organisers. According to sources, the plight of little children really worried her.

BAFTA nominations announced

Moulin Rouge and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring lead the 2002 Orange British Academy Film Awards with 13 nominations each.

Gosford Park and the French hit Amelie had nine each, and Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, followed with eight.

The winners will be announced February 24 at the Odeon Leicester Square, 12 days after this year's Academy Award nominations are announced.
