K3G tops US radio charts

K3G

Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham has topped the RBC radio listeners' charts. RBC Radio is the largest subscribed Hindi radio station in the US.

Bole Chudiyan from K3G was voted as the song of the year. K3G also bagged top spot in categories of best film, best direction and best music direction (Sandesh Shandilya).

RBC's listeners voted Gadar star Sunny Deol as the best actor and Kareena Kapoor as the best actress for her role in Yaadein.

Udit Narayan was declared as best male singer for the song Udja kaale kawaan in Gadar while Alka Yagnik was chosen as the best female singer for the song Mehndi hai rachnewali in the film Zubeidaa.

Aamir gifts Afghans Lagaan

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan as a token of goodwill has sent the people of Afghanistan a print of his blockbuster film Lagaan.

The New Year's gift was presented to the new interim president, Hamid Karzai. Lagaan will be screened at cinemas in the country as well as premiering on Afghan Television.

It has also been announced that Afghanistan will soon have an Indian Film Festival, which will screen the latest Hindi films as well as a few classics.

IMAX film on Jim Corbett

The Afsana and Goulam Amarsy-produced IMAX film, India - Kingdom of the Tiger will soon premiere at the IMAX theatre in Mumbai.

The film follows the path of the legendary English hunter-naturalist Jim Corbett and addresses the issue of conserving India's magnificent tigers.

The film made by Goulam's company Primesco Communications of Montreal, Canada, in association with the National Wildlife Federation, the film is also a historical epic depicting India from 1910 to the modern era.

Directed by Bruce Neibaur, India - Kingdom of the Tiger stars Smriti Mishra and Christopher Heyerdahl and has costumes by Oscar winner Bhanu Athaiya.
