A Grammy for Pandit Ravi Shankar
It was a night to remember when the legendary sitar maestro and composer Pandit Ravi Shankar's name was announced as the Grammy winner for his for his album Full Circle/Carnegie Hall 2000 in the world music album category. At the 2002 Grammy music awards, held in Los Angeles, singer Alicia Keys, Irish band U2 and living legend Bob Dylan dominated the award scene.
Honey Irani turns director
Post Farhan Akhtar's successful debut in the field of filmmaking with Dil Chahta Hai, mother Honey Irani too has decided to turn director. Honey, has penned emotional and sensitive subjects like Aaina, Lamhe and Kya Kehna to her credit. For her new film, Honey has signed Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor to play the main lead. Gracy Singh is a likely addition to the cast.
Tinnu Verma's new mission
Not just happy being a fight master Tinnu Verma first tried his hands at acting with Mela, where he played the lead villain. Though Mela was a disaster at the BO, Tinnu decided to go ahead and adorn the villain's mantle in Maa Tujhe Salaam. The film also marked his directorial debut. Now that Maa Tujhe Salaam has hit bulls eye, Tinnu is all set to launch his own Production Company. The cast and credits are still being finalised.
Brit comedian Spike Milligan is no more British Comedian Spike Milligan expired from kidney failure in Sussex. He was 83. Among his numerous fans is Prince Charles who expressed heartfelt sadness on the comical actor's demise. The popular star of The Goon Show, Milligan also wrote books like Adolf Hitler, My Part In His Downfall.
