Raakhee and Sharmila Tagore together after 30 years
Thirty years after they shared the same camera frame for Yash Chopra’s Daag, director Ritoparno Ghosh brings Raakhee and Sharmila Tagore together again for his Bengali film. The film is a crime fiction to be based on the Miss Marple books by Agatha Christie. Raakhee will play the role of Miss Marple, while Tagore plays a filmmaker. The film will also have Nandita Das as a journalist.
Playwright Mahesh Dattani to direct a feature film Bangalore based playwright Mahesh Dattani debuts as a feature film director with Mango Souffle. A film on sexuality in the metros, the film stars Heeba Shah, daughter of Naseeruddin Shah. Dattani, a Sahitya Akademi winner is the creator of plays such as On a Muggy Night in Mumbai, Bravely Fought the Queen, Final Solutions and Dance like a Man.
Esha Deol's forthcoming
After her no show Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche, Esha Doel will soon be seen in Kya Dil Ne Kaha opposite Tusshar Kapoor. Produced by GA Seshagiri Rao, the film is written and directed by Sanjay Chhel and should hit the theatres by end of March.
Rahul Dev in Sunny's Shaheed Bhagat Singh
After making a mark in Champion, Shah Rukh Khan’s Asoka and Indian, Rahul Dev is on a roll. Apart from a role in Vikram Bhatt’s Khel, we hear that he has bagged a key role in Sunny Deol’s Shaheed Bhagat Singh. While on Sunny’s Shaheed Bhagat Singh, talks are that Manoj Kumar who was supposed to write the script of the film has reportedly denied that he is doing the film. It must be recalled that Manoj had written Shaheed for the first time 35 years ago.
