Ghai's dream project has teething problems
Subhash Ghai’s dream project Whistling Woods International, seems to be having a bit of trouble. 30 advasis were arrested on Wednesday for refusing to vacate the plot of land at Filmcity, Goregaon on which the institute is to come up. The adivasi's who had occupied the land, had organised a dharna under the banner of the Shramik Sangharsh Samiti and even stopped the land leveling work that was going on. A training institute for aspirants in all aspects of filmmaking, the building is scheduled to be completed by October 24, 2002 and the institute to start functioning early 2003. The institute will offer courses ranging between six months and two years in acting, music, editing, cinematography, script-writing and other subjects.
Kamal Haasan has company
Kamal will soon be seen in an out an out comedy with Jayaram, Ramesh Arvind, Yuhi Sethu (of Nayyandi Durbar fame) and Sreeman for company. To be directed by KS Ravikumar the film, titled Panchathanthiram, has music by Deva. The script has been penned by Crazy Mohan. Simran, Ramya Krishnan, Sanghavi and Aishwarya are the female lead in the film. Likely to be released in May, the buzz is that the film is inspired by Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai.
Salman and Ash in Chandra’s next
After Style, N Chandra will soon start directing Ripples Entertainment’s, (the makers of Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar), next venture. To be a remake of a South hit, talks are that the film will have Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles.
Kim has her kitty full
Not much has been seen of the youngsters of Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein. However, that should change now as we hear Kim Sharma will soon be seen in Deepak Anand’s Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai, due to release very soon. Kim's other projects include Nehlle Pe Dehlla with Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu as co-stars, Kahta Hai Dil Bar Bar with her Mohabbatein costar Jimmy Shergill, Akbar Khan’s Taj Mahal and a Jackie Shroff production.
