Honey Irani signs Preity for her directorial debut

Preity Zinta Scriptwriter-turned-director Honey Irani has roped in Preity Zinta to play a mature woman in her first film.

The film, a mature love story, will also star Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu.

To ensure that Preity is focused, she even forbade Farhan from signing her for a bubbly role in his next film. Preity Zinta had earlier worked with Honey on Kya Kehna.

Sholay star reunite for TV serial

Asrani Sholay, one of the most popular Hindi films, still boasts of a huge number of fans. And here's news for them to rejoice. Two of the characters from the film are set to be brought back to life on the small screen.

The two stars Asrani and Jagdeep will star in a television show as their characters from the film - Jailor Toap Singh and Soorma Bhopali.

The serial is produced by the makers of the hit show Boogie Woogie.

Snippets from MIFF

This year's MIFF's retrospective section showcases the works of four famed filmmakers – Paul Bush from the United Kingdom, Jerzy Kucia and Krzystof Zanussi from Poland and R V Ramani from India.

Chennai based short filmmaker and cinematographer R V Ramani's retrospective comprises a total of ten films, a majority of which are based on artists and art-based events including Face Like A Man, Blue Black Yellow and Heaven On Earth.

While the films of UK-based filmmaker Paul Bush is a reflection of his background in fine arts, Polish filmmaker Jerzy Kucias’ films show his love for animation.
