Sony buys Mukta Arts films

Sony Entertainment Television has bought the entire Mukta Arts Hindi film library.

The deal which was signed by Subhash Ghai, CMD, Mukta Arts and Kunal Das Gupta, CEO, SET at Mukta Arts' office on Wednesday, April 24 has been finalised for Rs 161 million for 11 films for 5 years and is meant for satellite telecast.

The films include Karz, Hero, Karma, Trimurti, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, Taal, Rahul and Yaadein.

Pyarelal's back

Musician Pyarelal of the legendary Laxmikant-Pyarelal duo will score the music for Mukesh Khanna's television serial Aaryamaan - Brahmaand Ka Yodha

A recording of the title track, written by Brij Mohan Pandey and performed by Vinod Rathod is to take place at the Empire Studios soon.

This serial produced by Mukesh Khanna is being hyped as the Indian version of Star Wars.

Tejaswani Kolhapure, sibling of popular 1970s' actress Padmini Kolhapure will be seen in Anurag Kashyap's Paanch; former Miss World Yookta Mookhey in A Muthu's Pyaasa; model Amrita Rao alongside debutante Arya Babbar in Raj Kanwar's Ab Ke Baras; Mauritian actress Viveka Babaji will also make her debut in Dinkar Kapur's Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat

Jagjit Singh to release new album

Noted Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh is all set to launch his latest album Forget Me Not.
