Chandni Bar - Part Two
Madhur Bhandarkar, who was written off when his previous film Trishakti flopped, has become the hottest thing post-Chandni Bar. The director says his next script could be a breezy take-off on Summer of 42 or Pretty Woman and hopes that it will have several songs unlike Chandni Bar. Bhandarkar is also toying with the idea of directing a sequel to Chandni Bar.
Salman to replace SRK
The grapevine is abuzz with the news that Salman Khan has been approached by J P Dutta for his mammoth project -- Tiger Hill. Another shocker is that Shah Rukh has already declined to do the film and that is the reason why JP allegedly approached Salman. It is also believed that Sohail Khan could also be roped into the film.
Sanjay's in trouble The CBI has contended in a designated TADA court that actor Sanjay Dutt was an alleged conspirator of 1993 serial bomb blasts as he had acquired some terrorist weapons from members of Abu Salem gang. Submitting arguments at the end of trial, special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said Dutt had received three AK-56 rifles, 9 mm pistol, cartridges and hand grenades at his residence on January 17, 1993, from Abu Salem's associates to commit terrorist acts in India. Dutt's lawyers Satish Maneshinde and Farhana Shah moved an application seeking exemption for the actor who is in USA for a film shooting. The judge was visibly angered by Dutt absence at the trial.
