Paanch director is going to court
Director Anurag Kashyap going to court to appeal the censor board's refusal to allow the screening of his psycho-thriller Paanch. The 11-member censor board committee refused to grant a certificate of release on grounds that the film was extremely violent. The film deals with the psychology of violence. The director, who has also written, Satya and Shool, said that the acts of violence were not shown explicitly in the film. Kashyap said he would appeal the censor board's verdict at a special court in New Delhi which reviews such decisions. The censor board's new chairman, Vijay Anand, said he had asked the director to make a few changes and re-edit the film.
Jackie is Hrithik's dad
The film stars Hrithik and Preity Zinta while evergreen Rekha has been cast opposite Jackie. One also hears that Jaggu Dada will be hopefully be teaming up with martial arts hero and Rush Hour 2 hero Jackie Chan.
Silent coming -- Rajesh Khanna After his comeback three years ago with the prestigious R K banner film, Aa Ab Laut Chalein, Rajesh Khanna's next film will slip into theatres without much brouhaha. Not many are aware that the yesteryear hero is part of the cast of the K C Bokadia film, Pyar Zindagi Hai, which releases today.
Show me the money -- Aankhen
Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Sushmita Sen and Paresh Rawal, the film is based on the well-known Gujarati play Andhalo Pato.
