Subhash Ghai prepones next
Director Subhash Ghai won't take it lying down. The showman refuses to be fazed by the flack his latest film, Yaadein, received. Ghai, who has just returned from the London and New York Premieres, has decided to silence his critics by preponing his next film. The film that was due to kick-off in January 2002 will now go on the floors later this year. To silence rumours that Hrithik and Kareena were upset with him, Ghai has apparently signed the two superstars again to essay the leads for the film.
Chandrachur says no to Sa Re Ga Ma Chandrachur Singh refuses to succumb to the lure of television, unlike his fellow stars. Even though his career isn't going great guns, the actor is hemming and hawing over taking up Zee TV's music show Sa Re Ga Ma. Gajendra Singh, the director of the show said that they approached Chandrachur Singh as he was a trained singer. But Chandrachur is reluctant to shift to television. He said he didn't want to lose his exclusivity by doing television shows.
Sanjay Khanna shifts focus After the debacle of Ittefaq, director Sanjay Khanna has now decided to try his hand at a psychological thriller. He hopes that this change in focus will change his luck at the BO too. Khanna is busy shooting his next film Junoon which pairs Chandrachur Singh and Shilpa Shetty. Junoon is scheduled for a summer 2002 release.
Neha's raring to go in Ehsaas Neha's dream debut with Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Kareeb didn't send her career soaring. Now, however, the actress has her hopes pinned on Mahesh Manjrekar's Ehsaas. The film has Neha playing a simple middle-class mother, a role she did in Prakash Jha's Rahul too. Ehsaas is scheduled for release later this month.
