Censors clear Paanch Anurag Kashyap's directorial debut film Paanch will finally see the light of day. The Tutu Sharma produced film starring Tejaswini Kholapure was denied censor clearance on grounds that it glorified violence and did not constitute healthy entertainment. However, a revised copy of the film with the objectionable sections cut has finally met with the censors approval. The film will hit the screen in the next two months. Paanch is based on the Abyankar murder case which rocked Pune in the early 80s where a man was kidnapped and murdered by a group of young men in to make a fast buck. Anurag Kashyap had previously written the story of hard-hitting films like Satya and Shool.

And the director has decided to produce this one, as his chief assistant Nikhil Advani will direct the film. Karan's decision comes as a surprise to the film community. We can only hope that this hiatus will be brief...very brief.
Shroff in the fast lane
His first home production Grahan was in the making for a couple of years. But Jackie Shroff has learnt his lessons well -- his current production Sandhya is progressing at breakneck speed. In fact, the film is already 95 per cent of the film is already complete and it won't be long before we see it on the big screen. Sandhya stars Jackie, Raveena, Ashutosh Rana and Danny.
