Prasar Bharati sues Sanjay Khan Prasar Bharati is contemplating initiating action against Sanjay Khan, Markand Adhikari, Ramanand Sagar and Dhiraj Kumar. Sanjay Khan’s company Numero Uno International owes over Rs 16.11 crores to Prasar Bharati and has been served with legal notice. It has been given 21 days to do the needful.
Haasil in trouble After last year's controversy surrounding Deepa Mehta's Water, the latest film to face the heat in Allahabad is Haasil. This romantic thriller, set against the backdrop of the Allahabad University campus has run into troubled waters. The trouble started with students objecting to the script which allegedly portrayed the president of the Allahabad University Union as a criminal. They said that the film paints the AU president in poor light and shows him disturbing the normal functioning of the university. The shooting was stopped, leaving its cast Ashutosh Rana, Jimmy Shergill and Hrishta Bhatt stranded.
Bipasha Basu on a roll Bipasha Basu sure is going places after her debut with Ajnabee. The actress has bagged five films, including the ones by David Dhawan and Yash Chopra. Uday Chopra will play her hero in the Chopra film. Bipasha has also signed a film with Southern superstar Balakrishna. Vikram Bhatt's Raaz with Dino Morea is likely to be her next release.
The return of Kukunoor Perizaad Zorabian, Om Puri and Kunal Vijayakar star in director Nagesh Kukunoor's third film Bollywood Calling which opens November 23. The film revolves around the travails of an unemployed American actress who finds fame in Bollywood. Another Hyderabad Blues in the making? We sure hope so!
