Sohail Khan arrested for assault Actor Sohail Khan was arrested under IPC section 324 for alleged assault on 19-year-old newcomer Kabir Merchant. The actor was arrested on Monday afternoon but was released on bail by a local court. He was produced before metropolitan magistrate M H Belose, who granted him bail on a bond of Rs 3000. Sohail, Salman Khan's youngest brother and brother-in-law Bunty got into a brawl with some unknown people at a suburban hotel. When Kabir intervened, Bunty began to hit him. Sohail joined in and smashed a glass bottle on Kabir's face. The bleeding Kabir was rushed to the Lilavati Hospital where he was operated upon to remove sliver from his face. Kabir's family allege that the police were biased and did not register any complaints against the Khans.
AB and AB
Their initial hesitancy to act together, has soon vanished. Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan have signed three films together. There’s Rakesh Mehra’s next film, Mahesh Manjrekar’s Kutumb and another home production that will be directed by Vipul Shah of Aankhen. Incidentally, in all three films, Amitabh and Abhishek play father and son.
The return of Vikram Actor Vikram, who shot to fame with his role with the cult classic Julie, (1975) has now turned to direction. Vikram will be making a film starring himself as a 55-year-old widower, which will have Vanraj Bhatia as the music director. Vikram who graduated from the Film and Technology Institute of India in 1972, was also associated with films such as Patita, Swami and Sitam.
Jackie goes green
After carving a niche for himself as an actor, Jackie Shroff extended his professional avenues and started his own production company. Now, Jackie Shroff, has been signed by adman Pritish Nandy for an ad campaign that preaches vegetarianism.
