Vinod gets into a fight with Suniel

Suniel Shetty

Cricketer Vinod Kambli has begun shooting for his Hindi film debut -- Anarth directed by Ravi Dewan. The cricketer stars with Suniel Shetty, (yup, Sunil has changed his name; numerology strikes yet again) is the film's hero. Kambli plays Shetty's friend in the film. The flamboyant batsman, however has no heroine cast opposite him. But he does get to fight, sing and generally act funny.

His first shot was a proper fight sequence. Kambli doesn't want to diverge details, but he said he had a lot of fun.

A model to watch

He may not have had the most successful debut with Tarkieb, but model-turned-actor Milind Soman is now making waves.

Those who have seen the rushes of Agnivarsha, can't stop raving about Milind's skills. Milind is cast as Jackie Shroff's younger brother who is at drawn swords with his father played by Mohan Agahse. Amitabh Bachchan plays Lord Indra in the film.

We hear that Milind has also put in a meritworthy performance in Ashok Kaul's Bhagmati -- Queen of Fortunes that has Tabu playing the lead.

Gracy signs her second Hindi film

Gracy Singh

Gracy Singh has finally signed her first Hindi film after Lagaan.

She has been roped in for a role in Anupam Sinha's upcoming film. Anupam is the younger sibling of director Anubhav Sinha. Gracy has been paired opposite Rakesh Bapat, who starred in Anubhav Sinha’s Tum Bin. Gracy will also be starring in a Telugu film with Nagarjuna.

No bright stars out this Diwali

The calendar seems to be playing the spoilsport for Bollywood this year. The season which traditionally witnesses the release of the year's biggest and best projects -- clashes with the holy month Ramzan.

Thus, for the first time since 1991, there will be no big budget releases this Diwali.

The coming weekend will only see the release of four average budget films, Deewanapan, Tera Mera Saath Rahein, Abhay and Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar.
