Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding, winner of the Golden Lion award for Best Film at this year's Venice Film Festival, will set a new record with its commercial release in India on November 30. It will be the first English film to be released simultaneously in 200 cinema halls over the country.

Monsoon Wedding stars Naseeruddin Shah, Lillette Dubey, Shefali Shetty, Vijay Raaz, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajat Kapoor, Roshan Seth and Soni Razdan.

Lucky times for Lucky Ali

Although singer Lucky Ali has not yet had a release, he's been inundated with offers for films.

Tanuja Chandra has signed him on for her upcoming project Sur. The film has Lucky Ali playing a music teacher who falls in love with a student.

Lucky has already recorded a song for the film and it is expected that shooting will commence shortly.

Satya star turns producer-director

Although it was Manoj Bajpai who walked away with all the accolades in Ramgopal Varma's Satya, the title character Satya played by south actor Chakravarty also deserved mention.

This Southern starhas now turned producer cum director for a film titled Durga. And if that wasn't enough, he's also essaying the lead role in the film.

Vashu's heroes -- Saif, Jackie, Abhishek, Vinod

Nevermind Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. Vashu Bhagnani is already working on his next project to be directed by Ahmed Khan.

Although the leading ladies have not been finalised, Jackie Shroff, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Tusshar and Vinod Khanna have been roped in as the film's leading men.
