Film stars to depose in Gulshan Kumar trial today

Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Chunkey Pandey have been summoned to depose today before the Sessions Court in Bombay as prosecution witnesses in the murder case of Gulshan Kumar.

The deposition of the trio will be vital evidence in the ongoing trial especially against music director Nadeem Saifi who is currently in London.

Though it may be a while before the culprits are taken to task, the nexus between the underworld and the film industry finds itself in the spotlight yet again.

Burglars in Manoj's home

Burglars broke into actor Manoj Bajpai's ancestral home at Belwa Amolwa village of Gaunha block of West Champaran district, recently. The miscreants, however, escaped when the star’s father, Radhakant Bajpai, woke up.

Bajpai, who catapulted into fame for portraying a gangster in Satya is troubled by the incident. He said he was disturbed to know that his parents are not safe in Bihar.

Preeya Kalidas dreams Bombay Dreams

21-year-old Preeya Kalidas has landed her dream role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's forthcoming West End musical, Bombay Dreams.

Preeya plays a young assistant film director, also called Priya, who dreams of being a successful Bollywood film director.

The script for Bombay Dreams has been written by Meera Syal, and the song lyrics by Don Black. A R Rahman scores for the musical and Farah Khan will choreograph.

Preeya also has a part in Gurinder Chadha's forthcoming film, Bend it Like Beckham.
