National Awards for Anil, Raveena

Actor Anil Kapoor has won the National Award for his intense performance in Pukar.

The actor was at Alibaug celebrating his wife Sunita's birthday, when he was told that he won the award. This is his first National Award.

Raveena Tandon has also won a National Award, for her strong-willed woman portrayal in Kalpana Lajmi's film, Daman.

Coming so soon after her recent shift to offbeat cinema, this award should come as vindication of her move.

Rajkumar Santoshi's Pukar has also won an award for national integration.
